Online poker traffic, Spin & Go really are a matter of skill

Online Poker

Online poker traffic dropped by 1% immediately. PokerStars has reaffirmed its place since the king of online poker. PokerStars boasts more cash-game players than the next 10 hottest poker rooms/networks combined including 888poker, iPoker and Party Poker.

The top 10 remained relatively unchanged immediately. The first 5 spots are similar, with PokerStars maintaining its usual massive lead over 888, who maintain their usual healthy lead over third place iPoker.  Pokerstars.it maintainined its impressive rise recently to fourth spot, with Bodog remaining right behind them in fifth, with both the poker room outperforming their usual rankings.

Party Poker is long gone Full Tilt immediately to take over sixth spot, and even though Full Tilt did do as good as usual to begin with 2015, on the heels of the strong promotion, they've got settled back fully now in seventh. Winimax.fr continues to hold down eighth spot, with Pokerstars.es in ninth and Adjarabet hanging to tenth.

PokerStars does hold 4 with the top 11 spots, with Pokerstars.fr in eleventh place.  4 from the top 17 sites are France only sites, including the 2 mentioned above plus Partypoker.fr in 16th and iPoker.fr in 17th. That’s pretty impressive for the single country and also given that about half the members in France play at non French regulated sites, quite simply none of these four.

Spin & Go Tournaments Are A Matter of Skill

Poker has been clearly been shown to be a sport of skill over time, where luck evens out as well as the money flows soon enough from your weaker on the stronger players.  Of course a great deal of this money also flows for the poker network as well but players have consistently shown that they may use skill to get over both other players and the rake making a profit.

Sit and go tournaments generally speaking seemed to be shown pretty conclusively becoming a few skill also, and there’s no reason to think otherwise simply because this format does demand a large amount of skill.  There are some though that aren’t, like every in oversees sit and go tournaments, where both players are put all in automatically around the upfront, but this format isn’t very well liked and is the exception.

There’s been some question as to the level of skill contained in lottery sit and go tournaments though, as this format does introduce a more impressive part of luck to the game, which is the reason they get the term “lottery.”

“Bighusla”, a top-notch SNG player on PokerStars, has shown that skill does factor into things, playing over 5000 $30 Spin & Go and winning over $11,000 carrying it out.  The large sample size used here's pretty persuasive that success at these tournaments isn’t like playing the lottery in any way which is instead dependent with a large degree upon skill.

This is great news for your poker rooms who offer this format mainly because it has been shown to be extremely popular and successful for them, and this could only are designed to further encourage players to offer them an attempt.

Spin & Go have become fast one table sit and go’s, with buy ins ranging from $1 to $30, but they are just three handed and show short stacks of 500 chips each, in order that they understand over rapidly, something a great deal of players value. The prize pool is decided randomly any where from 2x the buy straight into 3600x the buy in.

The lottery Sit and Go format has shown to be popular and successful. The games are fast, filled with poker action and there is always an opportunity that the lucky prize pool will hit to provide a big payout - including the $30 buy-in Spin & Go offers you the chance to win up to $90,000.

Guide to Live Dealer Roulette at Online Casinos

Guide to Live Dealer Roulette at Online Casinos
Live dealer roulette is becoming incredibly popular in the online gambling universe. Live dealer games provide an air of realism in what is a largely digitized world, helping to bridge the gap for players who have yet to make the switch from land-based casinos to online gambling websites. For players who are unfamiliar with the platform, this article will provide an overview of these games and how they work in the online world.
Live dealer roulette is essentially a cross between online casino games and land-based offerings. A dealer in a remote location is broadcast to the player via webcam, and the game plays out in exactly the same fashion as a traditional casino game. The dealer spins the wheel, so there is no need for a random number generator; the dealer carries out any actions needed to move the game forward. In addition to roulette, live dealer baccarat and blackjack are also available in the online gambling world.
There are two main types of live games. The first is streamed from an online casino and broadcasts a dealer from a private studio. The set up is optimized to create a comfortable online gambling experience. The second type of live dealer software broadcasts a dealer table from a land-based casino. Players can see all of the other players at the table and watch as the action unfolds in the exciting casino environment.
When playing this type of online casino game, the player's screen is divided into two sections. The top half of the screen broadcasts the dealer - and displays the bet limits, chat box and timer. The bottom half of the screen is a digital representation of the dealer's table. In games like baccarat and blackjack, the cards that the are dealt appear here. All of the wagering options also appear in this section of the screen, and the functions are similar to those in a completely digitized online casino game.
Live dealer software is provided by third-party developers rather than individual casino operators. Companies like Microgaming and PlayTech supply the software that make online roulette, blackjack and baccarat into live dealer games. As the market continues to grow and develop, more developers who specialize in this type of gaming are emerging. Smaller companies like Evolution Gaming and CWC Gaming specialize in this type of software development and are slowly gaining a portion of the live dealer market share.

However, in case you wish to earn money and have fun too, then poker is the greatest option. This game not just offers you high odds of winning, but also brings along fantastic thrill and excitement. In case you wish to try your hand at the game, then the following tricks could be of awesome help.
Poker is one game which calls for you to come prepared with all your money management capabilities well in place. Game of poker can undoubtedly help you make moolah, but, it brings along chances of heavy losses too. It is because of this, handling your money right gets all the more essential. Don't take extreme risks. This holds more importance if preparing to play poker when travelling on a cruise. Instead of blowing it up all on gambling, save money that you may need to satisfy other expenses that cruise entails.
Set your limits. This is perhaps the golden rule of gambling. You should not play too many hands. One of the wisest things that you can do while playing poker is to not play at every hand. Seek out the perfect chance or hand before you eventually conclude to bluff. Even when you feel bored of waiting for a better hand, do not give into the temptation of playing any hand that comes your way. A bit of patience will always work in your favour.
Don't bluff if you can't handle it. In particular circumstances, bluffing goes a long way in helping you win at poker by increasing your odds of winning and also making the game more interesting. Nevertheless, not everyone is capable of pulling off a bluff correctly. If you suffer from high blood pressure at the mere thought of a bluff, it might be perfect for you to stay away from it altogether.
Keep a check on your emotions. You can have fun with the game only if you play it as a means of fun and thrill. In case you believe that playing poker can help you triumph over your emotions like grief, loneliness and the like, you are grossly mistaken. You could perform well in poker only if you play analytically and logically; emotions in turn could curb your ability for such logical thinking.
It is not stated without cause that poker is a game of absolute enjoyment and pleasure. Nevertheless, learning tricks of poker ought to not be a reason of stress in you. Make it a point not to overspend when playing poker. This will avert you from unnecessarily fretting about losing money. Go ahead and enjoy your game.

Born to Win - 7 Steps Entering Success

08:12 By Gamblin Blogs

You were designed to overcome with success on the inside, and yet success is up to you.
For one to walk into his or her achievement, it is important to start where you're right now and accept yourself. Don't impersonate any body, do not try to be somebody other than yourself.
You should examine your own self within and look at all the injures, the pains and the downfalls. Inspite of the numerous failures you have been through, you aren't a loser.
Disappointment is not final it is brief. It is really an event which you have undergone which was supposed to teach you a lesson.
Just about every highly effective individual is someone who failed, nevertheless never ever considered himself/herself as a disaster.
You Were Born to Win
1. Believe in Your God-Given Capacity to Succeed
You should exercise trust instead of uncertainty. The two is just like gas and drinking water, they just cannot be united.
Have faith in your own ability.
Believe in a source bigger than yours
There isn't a larger trust than the faith you put in The almighty and in your own self.
Let go of your constrained beliefs and never limit your self.
Lots of persons have decrease them selves to what they feel they're able to do. You can move in as much as your thoughts will permit you. What your head can conceive and acknowledge, that same intellect can achieve.
Utilize your mind's vision and see yourself getting into greatness.
You will need to believe it so that you can see it. Seeing isn't trusting, that's doubting.
2. Past Your Days gone by
Let go of your history and do not allow it to hold you back.
This step might take some time, practice plus patience, yet it's important to get past it as a way to move forward and formulate the actual lifestyle you happen to be wishing for.
You are born to succeed, your history is times past (just a story), you should not tie yourself to that.
The Rev. Jack Hayford once mentioned, "The past is a dead issue, and we cannot gain momentum moving toward tomorrow if we are dragging the past behind us".
If you want motivation and inspiration how to defeat seemingly insurmountable and impossible troubles, look into the life tale of folks like Helen Keller, Booker T Washington, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Nelson Mandela.
3. Control Your Thought
If you say to yourself, "I cannot", you're correct. If you say to yourself, "yes I can", you are equally right.
If you think you can or you can't you are right. The strength of thought is really massive, it could direct the span of your life.
We turn into what we think about and concentrate upon continuously.
Whatsoever keeps our focus will determine our activity.
We're what we are and where we're due to the ruling thoughts that occupy the brain.
This is how amazing our thought processes are:
Main Premise: We can easily control our thought processes.
Modest Premise: Our thoughts occur from our opinion
Summary: We can easily manage our inner thoughts by studying to modify how we believe.
It is the things we consider about and concentrate on, not really our conditions, that decides our achievement.
You had been born to succeed, practice to get good excellent thoughts to fill up the mind continually.
The Bible tells us all, ways to think: "Whatever things are noble, whatsoever things are truthful, whatever things are correct, whatever things are real, whatsoever things are beautiful, whatever things are remarkable, if there be any quality and if there be any encouragement, reflect on these types of things".
4. Modify Your Attitude
Your mindset decides failure or success.
Your attitude, not your aptitude, determines your height.
For your daily life to change, your mind-set have to change.
Our mind-set informs us that which we expect to have out of life.
Just like a plane, if our "nose" is pointing up we're setting to take off; if it is pointing down, we might be at risk of a crash.
You were created to be successful. The successful attitude sees the a glass half full instead of half empty, expect the best instead of believing the most severe, is sure of triumph rather then fearful of failure, is full of thankfulness instead of packed with criticism, states it could be challenging yet doable rather than announcing it's possible yet tough.
Oft times our perspective is the primary difference between achieving success and disaster.
5. Be The Cause of Your Life
There are three types of individuals in life.
1 type get things happen, another view what is happening and the final inquire what has happened.
The majority live their life as though life owes them something, so they recline and assume life to "do us" instead of "us performing life".
You had been born be successful, with greatness inside. But in order for anyone to enter their greatness they will need to rise up, do something and make thing come about.
The earth and our lives are governed by typical laws, one of them is that action causes the same and opposite reaction.
You were born to win, take action, make things happen, take the chances.
If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you'll have to accept the normal.
6. Be Dedicated to The Ideal
Once we are devoted to having our desired goals, we will allow nothing to prevent us.
If we desire prosperity and need it badly enough, we'll discover a way although there seems to be no way.
If we're not entirely committed, almost any little barrier that comes our direction might derail us.
In order to enter greatness it cannot be treated as a hobby - it's a promise
7. Sow Seeds That Assist Other.
Good results in everyday life is all about developing human relationships.
Whether it be friends and family partnership, job partnership or line of work relationship, it's thinking about other people desires and serving them to find their effectiveness within.
Zig Ziglar captures this thought flawlessly, he stated "Help other folks acquire what they need, and you will have all you could desire."
When you know your purpose in life and are expanding to realize your utmost capabilities, then you're on the right path to enter success, knowing that you were given birth to to succeed.

How a Casino is Beaten - Gamblers Intelligence Update

08:11 By Gamblin Blogs

Beating the online casino - intelligence report
There are many mathematical programmes on the internet that claim to point players in the direction of beating the casino. I just hope you're not one of those people who have ever paid or subscribed to one of these systems. The truth is, the answer to beating the casino lies more with human emotion and the concepts of behaviour. In gambling, there are certain triggers within the brain that release class beta chemicals into the bloodstream, excitement, anticipation and adrenaline are all subject to these triggers.
The majority of players are deeply drawn into this trap which produces the onsets of wanting more and slowly being squeezed by personal greed as a result. Now the casino is well aware that the majority of people don't think about this part of the game, in fact most people are completely unaware of it.
It is around seventy five percent of gamblers who play without the realisation of their emotional involvement within gambling. If you are to have any true success against the casino, then you must break away from the crowd in order to become something different entirely, something unique.
The course of action - how you go about beating the casino
Lets get one thing straight, beating the casino is not simply defeating the house and taking home the money, it is doing this over and over again, in sequence and like habit, repeating your slaughter. If you've decided that you can handle the emotional element of this mission, then the next phase is preparing for the extraction of money from the casino. This must be done gradually and over time, it is slow and precise in practice.
Greed and heavy loading are areas of losing quantities, your profits must be ruled by percentage and strictly followed in achieving. I've mentioned in many of my articles about bankroll stability and preparation, again these areas are common knowledge as you must have a key handle on these before proceeding, so make sure you know how to run a bankroll.
You now play and play within your bankroll, you enjoy the game and you absorb the experience, you're always training for the next day, this mentality is vital. A winning moment is expected, losing ones are part of the journey, either result is beneficial, when your goals are weeks and months down the line.
Patience is profit in casino, if you can hold out for a few dollar increase in each game, then the thousands of games add up over time. During this period your discipline is forged into a significant piece of the puzzle, that will become vital for the larger cash barriers in the future.
Beating the casino is not mathematical genius, it is not highly precise logic frames or computer generated code work, nor is it the the possibility of revoking odds through equation. Beating the casino is you, your very human nature, it is not falling to greed and worry, not folding to loss, beating the casino is the accumulation of tiny profits over time and reward of doing so.
Time is money, an awful lot of it.

Strategies to Win Online Bingo Games

08:11 By Gamblin Blogs

Although it is true that online bingo games are based on chance and that winning is more a matter of luck than a pre-decided outcome, it is possible to sway the game towards one side by applying certain time-tested and commonly used strategies. Obviously, one cannot predict for sure whether one is going to win but one can surely play in a manner which ensures maximum chances of winning thus translating into enhanced profits.
Some strategies which are commonly applied by online Bingo players are:
One of the basic rules while indulging in online Bingo is that in spite of there being a number of websites, each of them follows its own set of rules and regulations. Therefore, it is imperative for the player to first familiarize himself with the rules of the particular website at which he is currently playing prior to investing a large sum of money. Likewise, one must also browse carefully through the rules and use them as a yardstick to decide whether the site is worthy of being tried or not.
Usually while playing Bingo one tends to play from more cards than required thinking that it would increase one's probability of winning. But a more effective strategy would be to play with fewer cards so that winning on one hand doubles one's profits but losing on the other does not rip one off completely.
In Bingo games, one's chances of winning depend upon the numbers being called and therefore, the more numbers are called the higher is the probability of winning. This is one factor which should always be borne in mind and since it is more a matter of chance one is able to figure out as the game proceeds whether one is reclining towards a loss or a win.
Every Bingo game follows a certain pattern which the player should be aware of in order to aim towards winning. Patterns are easier to follow in case of regular Bingo games while one needs to be alert in order to be able to spot specific patterns. Formation of patterns is also dependent on factors like the composition of players and the time duration.
One of the most effective strategies which comes in handy while playing Bingo games is watching one's cards carefully and accordingly judging one's chances of winning. In this regard, a long wait is not recommended as it implies splitting of winnings between many players and an alternative is to opt for a website that automatically calls Bingo for the player.

Is Your Business Doing These Three Things to WIN Online?

08:11 By Gamblin Blogs

It's easy for businesses to put social media on the back-burner after reading some headlines these days. "Users are leaving Twitter" and "Facebook can't figure out how to monetize mobile" are hot topics on all the financial blogs. The simple truth of the matter, however, is that "social media" has become the place where people spread word-of-mouth referrals. Whether the vehicle remains the same or not, social media is here to stay. For the foreseeable future, customers are spending time on Facebook, and that means your business should, too.
Below I'm going to share 3 things that, I feel, must happen for a business to begin seeing a return on their investment online. At this point we aren't even talking about money, we're talking about building up that lucrative network of followers that can help get you in the door at your next job. Obviously this list isn't all inclusive, and exceptions may exist -- albeit few and far between.
Cast a wide net. Today while "adding" friends on Facebook, a little error message popped up and said, "only add people if they are friends or people you know IRL (in real life)." This is hogwash. Facebook is about being social -- You can meet people on Facebook the same way you can meet people anyplace else. Just mind people's privacy, and never try to add someone more than once.
I typically look for people in my same geographic area with similar interests. They might have information about something that is going on in my day-to-day life that will be beneficial to me, and vice versa. I have discovered many previously unknown facts about my area by having these "strangers" on my feed. Some of them are pretty influential businesspeople, too, which helps once we get to step 3. Invite people to participate. Don't assume people are not interested in your page. So long as you are selling a good product at a fair price, you should feel 100% comfortable with inviting anyone on your friends list to check it out. Again, the Golden Rule about Facebook is never personally invite someone more than once. Did they see it? Absolutely. Don't take it personally if they don't immediately like your page. Move on. I generally write a very short introduction message to people whom I want to check out my pages. An example;
Hello Jim! My name is Andrew and I'm a local biz owner in Whoville. Looks like you own a business as well. I come across a lot of people on here and offline, so if I ever talk to anyone who needs XYZ service, I'll send them your way. What do the most of your clients come-in for?
When you have time, please check out my Facebook page. I try to keep all my posts short and to-the-point, and I never share more than two updates a day. If you think of anyone who could use my service, will you pass the link along? Thanks again, Jim.
This sort of message will very rarely ever generate a negative response -- and if it does, just type, "Sorry!" and move-on. If you follow the Golden Rule and don't attempt contact more than once, nothing will ever come of it.
Reciprocate, reciprocate, reciprocate. When your new "friends" share their biz pages, pass them along by sharing them on your own page. If they post a cute picture, make a comment. If they post a thoughtful update, like it. This sounds a bit obvious but you would be surprised at how many business leads I have generated simply by commenting on someone's status. "I'm having a bad day." Can easily be read as, "I'm having a bad day because the copier is broken and I don't know a repairman." a ten-second conversation could generate a lead for my friend Phil who fixes "bad days."
A word to the wise on reciprocating, however -- Know when to move along. If you have liked a a couple of pictures, commented on a couple of status updates, and shared your friend's business page, you probably want to move-along and share your attention with someone else. Nobody likes to feel as if they are being watched, and your 365 coverage of Steve's page is probably going to get annoying real quick. All things in moderation.
In closing, I'm going to bring up something I mentioned earlier. If you have influencers on your page, don't be afraid to reach-out to them. Give them a little Facebook love in the form of a like or a share, wait a few days, then send them an introductory message. The goal here is to just introduce yourself, but if they end up sharing your page to their 10,000 follows, hey, that's good too!

Paper Or Plastic Poker Cards?

Thursday, 26 September 2019 05:38 By Gamblin Blogs

If you're just starting out playing poker, one of the first things you'll need to buy are a few decks of cards. Not all decks are created equal, though, and there are a few things to learn about the kinds of cards before you shuffle up and deal. Paper or plastic poker cards? This is your most important decision when choosing a deck of cards. Using plastic poker cards is a good and relatively inexpensive way to start. Not only do plastic playing cards enhance the playing experience, they are actually more cost effective than using regular paper playing cards!
While paper cards do an adequate job, they are easily soiled by dirty fingers, can be creased or bent, and last for only a night or two. Plastic cards, on the other hand, are much more durable, are easily cleaned, retain their shape better, and are harder to mark or crease. There are actually three different kinds of materials playing cards are made of: plastic, vinyl, and paper. Plastic cards are the most durable, highest quality cards and are used in almost all casinos. Vinyl cards are a good, slightly cheaper choice, though they will bend and won't last as long as the 100% plastic cards. Paper is the cheapest and least durable - the corners will fold, and you'll have to get new ones often. But in a pinch, paper cards are better than none.
However, Paper cards are infamous for not holding their shape - whether from a thousand shuffles (they start to "bow" upwards) or from players lifting up a corner to read their hole cards. Plastic poker cards, in comparison, are easier to bend (not as stiff as paper cards) and maintain their flatness better. Also, Plastic cards stay cleaner, are easier to shuffle and have a better snap back to them.
If your home game is like mine, then there will be the often drink spilled incident during the course of the night. Unfortunately, paper cards must be discarded after they get wet. On the other hand, a quick wipe of a towel and the plastic cards are good as new. Even without any spilled drinks, plastic cards can be returned to their sealed box glory with some cold water and a damp sponge. Imagine playing every game with clean and shiny cards.
For convenience sake, paper playing cards can't be beat. Need a deck? Just run to the nearest supermarket or your local Walgreens for a deck. But if you want a cards that will last 2-3 years of weekly use, then you're looking for a quality deck of plastic poker cards.
In a recent poll at a Worldwide Poker Community, 59% of people who play poker at home use plastic poker cards.

How to Promote Your Tournament: Poker Chips For Charity

05:38 By Gamblin Blogs

In the first 5 articles we covered all the aspects of Hosting Your Tournament. We covered the necessities, poker chips, poker table tops and cards, as well as poker trophies, tournament mementos, prizes, and how to structure your tournament. In this article 6, the last in the series, we'll cover promoting your tournament.
If you're just having a little home game for fun, there's nothing to it. Just call up your poker playing friends and you can fill a poker table or two in no time, but even then, having the structure and equipment planned out in advance sure helps. If you are planning a tournament at a local club or restaurant, or even a larger tournament like Poker Chips For Charity, it takes some promoting to fully realise success.
Keep in mind that our authorities consider poker, for any form of compensation, potentially illegal in most areas. It depends on local attitudes. Whatever you're planning, if you approach local officials with a well planned tournament that is not considered just "gambling for money", you'll have a greater chance for a worry free tournament, possibly even support.
Local clubs and restaurants, who want the guests and business the tournament brings, can work with you and use custom poker chips very effectively in a promotion. With the establishment's logo, phone, email and maybe even a $2 off lunch coupon printed on a custom poker chip, you can give one to each entrant as an entry gift, and they'll be redeemed at the establishment. You even get them back so you can re-use them. Everybody wins, the entrants, the host, and the establishment, all done with an inexpensive re-usable custom poker chip. Establishments can also include a mention of the tournament in their ad campaigns to increase entrants if you have room.
Charity Poker Tournaments are very popular, and becoming more so all the time. Charity tournaments can raise a lot of both money and awareness for the cause. They are also good for the game. It's becoming customary at special event and charity poker tournaments to give each entrant a memento of the event. Custom poker chips specially designed for the event are very inexpensive and appropriate here also. Depending upon size and budget, even card protectors and spinners, t-shirts, and more elaborate poker accessories can work. A nice poker chip set for the winner, poker bracelet or trophy can increase attendance and interest. Be sure these freebies don't conflict with laws, that's why we suggest to approach local authorities with a plan at the outset, not after a problem arises.
We hope you enjoyed the 6 part series, How To Host A Successful Poker Tournament, and got some good information or ideas. We will cover other poker subjects here in future articles.

Odds of Two Pair on the Flop

05:38 By Gamblin Blogs

It seems to happen at poignant moments to cause maximum irritation. You've just mucked a possibly playable hand and the flop suddenly shows two pair. An uneasy feeling that you've done something wrong comes over you. You were positive you did the right thing but now you can't but help feeling annoyed. Doesn't that just always seem to happen? But how often does this sort of thing occur?
Played Pockets
How often do you hit two pair on the flop? We'll put aside any case of pocket pairs since those are played differently. That leaves us with all the other combination's.
You'll get pocket pairs about 6% of the time, so 94% of all pockets will not be pocket pairs. See Odds of a Pocket Pair for details about this calculation.
Two on the flop
Now, how often does the flop match?
Once the two pocket cards are removed there are (50c3) = 19600 possible flops. Quite a lot of them are effectively the same in that the logical poker value is identical. That doesn't concern this calculation however. The question is how many contain the same two ranks as our pocket cards?
There are 3 more cards of the same rank as each pocket card. For example, let's say our pocket contains 2♥ 5♠. There may be 3 matching cards for each of these two cards in the deck so there are 9 possible ways that you can draw matching pairs on the flop, i.e. 2♠ 5♣, 2♠ 5♦, 2♠ 5♥, 2♣ 5♣, 2♣ 5♦, 2♣ 5♥, 2♦ 5♣, 2♦ 5♦, 2♦ 5♥. There are 44 remaining cards that could complete the flop (52 minus our pocket minus the 6 cards that can make two pair) so there are 9*44 = 396 flops that contain one of our 9 2-card combination's plus a third card that doesn't match either of our pocket cards. That gives us 396 / 19600 = 2.02% chance of flopping exactly two pair
In our calculation all hands resulting in a full house have been removed. This actually makes the calculation a lot simpler. If a full house and four of a kind is allowed, it'd add another 84 combination's.
Total
We know that 94% of the pockets aren't pocket pairs, so we apply that to our 2% chance of catching both of our pocket cards on the flop. 94% * 2% = 1.9%. So 1.9% is the over all likelihood of catching two pair on the flop when your pocket doesn't start with a pair in the first place, and not including the odds of catching a full house. That doesn't seem high! Another way to think of it is that this will happen about every 52nd hand. If full houses and quads are allowed that increases the odds to every 43rd hand.
Thus relying on the two pair means playing with around 50:1 odds. Such odds are never profitable in hold'em. Therefore whatever reason there was to fold the pocket was likely valid -- and the two pair coming up after the fact is completely irrelevant.
Permutation Method
An alternate way to calculate this is to use permutations. In this particular case it may actually be a shorter formula, but may be a bit more difficult to explain.
If one card is drawn there is a 6 in 50 chance to match against one of the pocket cards. If matched, there is now a 3 in 49 chance to match against the other pocket card. For the last card it must just not be another match, thus a 44 in 48 chance. So the chance to match the first and second card on the flop is 6/50 * 3/49 * 44/48 = 0.6735%.
Note that the final term 44/48 is required since only two pair interests us. If another matching card were to come up that would result in a full house, not two pair. Thus there are only 44 cards that are allowed.
There are three orders of the match: First, Second,Any; First, Any, Second; and Any, First, Second. Since we don't care which order the cards show up in, that means any of these three possibilities would be valid. 0.6735% *3 = 2.02% - the same probability we got using our earlier method.
Here's yet another slightly different way to get the same result: In this case the result for a single ordering is 3/50 * 3/49 * 44/48 = 0.3367%. In this case there are three terms: Match A; Match B; Any. That gives us (3*2*1) = 6 possible orderings for a total of 6 * 0.3367% = 2.02%.

The Long and Colorful History of 7 Card Stud Poker

05:37 By Gamblin Blogs

Though there are many theories about the origin of poker, the most popular belief is that it derived its name from the French card game Poque. There are reports suggesting that the game was first played in New Orleans in 1829, with a deck of 20 cards consisting of all cards that had value of 10 or above, i.e. four each of ace, king, queen, jack and ten with four players betting on which player's hand had the most valuable cards. Jonathan H. Green's book, "An Exposure of the Arts and Miseries of Gambling" (G. B. Zieber, Philadelphia, 1843), indicted that from there the game proliferated throughout the country through Mississippi riverboats, where gambling was a regular pastime.
7 card stud poker is a varied version of stud poker. The 7 card stud poker was rated as the most played poker variant until the Texas Hold Em gained its present popularity, among the home games in the United States. Played with 7 cards, you need to make a five-card hand.
For playing the 7 card stud poker, you need a deck of 52 cards and chips. Two to seven players may play the game, though eight persons may also play, but would need special rules for the last cards dealt, when no player folds. Betting is clockwise, starting from the player with the lowest card showing. Once all the players have put in the ante, the dealer deals three cards, which are called hole cards, two of them with their face down, and the third card with face up. Now, each player looks at his three-hole cards and the player holding the lowest card, places the bring-in bet. Players to the left of the low card-holder will in turn call, raise or fold their cards.
After all the players have finished betting, the dealer deals the next card to each player. This is again a face up card, also known as the "fourth street." Once again, the betting round starts from the player with the highest card that shows. All other rounds follow this order of betting. The fifth card is also dealt with face up and is called the "river," and more betting follows. Next, the sixth card is dealt. It is also a face up card. Again, there is a round of betting. Finally, the seventh and the last card is dealt with its face down. A final round of betting follows, at the end of which the players show their hands. The player with the highest dealt hand is the winner.
Therefore, you can understand that 7 card stud poker needs some common sense, skill and usual luck, which plays an important role in helping you win at an online casino. A very interesting and helpful feature of this game is that one may choose to play its different variants at the Jackpot Capital Casino. The most popular ones are the 7 stud Hi and stud Hi/Lo. You may opt for one that you feel more comfortable to play. Whatever is the type of the poker variations, do not ever forget to chase a hand. You will anyway find it helpful in winning the game.

What You Need to Know About Online Casino Payouts

What You Need to Know About Online Casino Payouts
With the internet opening up the world to everyone and making so many things readily available, it is no wonder that online casinos have become a popular form of online entertainment. It is no longer necessary to make plans and lodging arrangements to visit your favorite Vegas casino. You can kick back in your own home and enjoy your favorite games.
But what most players do not realize, or at least not right away, is that how they receive their winnings is different online than at a Vegas casino. At a Vegas casino you would collect your chips, coins, or player tickets and go cash in. You would receive your payout right then.
When it comes to online casinos, the payouts work a little bit differently. There are three things you need to know and consider in regards to payouts before you choose a casino to play at.
Withdrawal Options
Most online casinos will have several different withdraw options for when you want your winnings. The most common method are a transfer to your credit card, a transfer to an online payment processing services, a wire transfer, or a credit to a your prepaid card if you used one to deposit to your player account. Some of the most commonly used online payment processing services used by online casinos are NETeller, eWallet, Click2Pay and Moneybookers. Some casinos will also have options available so that you can have your winnings mailed to you in a check, or transferred directly to your bank account via an e-check.
You will want to check out what withdrawal options are available before depositing money. Do not get into a situation where you have no means of getting your payout. For example, you might already have a PayPal account, but if the online casino does not accept PayPal, your winnings cannot be transferred there. Check your withdrawal options ahead of time and set up a withdrawal method to prevent running into stress and frustration later.
Time Frame on Receiving Payouts
It is not uncommon for different types of online casino payouts to have different receiving times. Unfortunately, since there is no direct person-to-person contact like at a Vegas casino cashier, most payouts are not instantaneous. Some might be but it will vary from casino to casino. The quickest payouts tend to be with transfers to credit cards, such as your debit card if it carries the logo of a major credit card company such as Visa or Mastercard. Other options, such as receiving a check in the mail, can take up to ten days.
Sometimes the amount of time to receive your winnings is held up for security reasons. To protect your financial information and themselves, some online casinos will hold your winnings until they can verify and approve the request for withdrawal. Unfortunately, there are people in the world who will try to hack into player accounts, request withdrawals and steal your winnings. To avoid this, casinos will request a faxback. That is a form that they send to you that you must fill out and faxback to them so that they can verify that you are the account holder and that you are requesting a withdrawal.
Withdrawal Charges
One more thing that you need to be aware of in regards to online casino payouts it transfer charges. Wire transfers will usually have a charge for the service, and most likely the casino will pass it on to you since it is your money. Some online payment processing services will charge a percentage or a flat rate for their services. If your credit card has to convert your winnings from one currency to another, there might be a charge for converting.
Some of these charges may come from the casino. To find out you can contact their customer support team. If you are using a credit card you will have to contact their customer service department for questions about any charges or fees; and the same applies to any of the online payment processing services.
So keep the above in mind when you are looking at the withdrawal options offered by casinos.

Poker Chips and More: The Roots of Poker

Poker Chips and More: The Roots of Poker
When poker chips are on the line and tempers at the casino tables are high, most poker players don't have time to consider how exactly poker came to be. The truth is, the roots of poker are highly debatable. There's no definite record of where it all began, so let's take a look at some theories.
In China
Some believe that poker's roots lie in a game invented by the Chinese prior to 969 A.D. That year, the Emperor Mu-tsung and his wife reportedly played "domino cards" on New Year's Eve.
In Persia
Poker also bears a close resemblance to the Persian game As Nas, which was developed in the 16th century. The game was played with 25 cards, which comprised five suits. The rules are reminiscent of our five card stud.
Some believe this game actually originated in China in the first century, though it's probable that the game was created using various ideas from other games. R.F. Foster did, however, write that "the game of poker, as first played in the United States, five cards to each player from a twenty-card pack, is undoubtedly the Persian game of as nas." It wasn't until the 1990s that historians began to suggest that this was false, as they'd started to favor Poque as the initial inspiration.
In Germany/France
An early game that included hand rankings, betting and bluffing is the German game Pochen or Poque, in French, which cropped up in the 17th century. The game was brought to America in the 19th century by the French (most likely directly to the Old West, where it's remained a staple of the culture ever since) and became what we know as poker. Both the German and French versions were derived from a 16th-century Spanish game called Primero, in which players were dealt only three cards. As such, Primero is often referred to as "Poker's Mother.
Poque is a game for three to six people, played with a pack of 32 playing cards that rank the same way a 52-card pack does, but starts at 7 instead of 2. Each player starts out with an equal number of chips (the equivalent of our poker chips). Cards are dealt out until there is only one left (some people had more cards than others), the suit of which is the "pay suit."
In the 18th century, the game was played with 36 cards (sixes were included) if there were more than four players. Each player is dealt five cards; the remaining cards are unused. In the 19th century, players bet prior to the dealing of the cards and then are each dealt five cards. As mentioned before, it's possible that poker is a conglomeration of a number of games, adopting various features from each one. Each later game probably borrowed aspects of those that came before it, blurring the lines between which game is which, and where they all got their inspirations.

The Good Casino Fairy and Other Gambling Myths

00:37 By Gamblin Blogs

The Good Casino Fairy and Other Gambling Myths
Do you believe in the tooth fairy? How about the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus? If you're an adult, you probably don't believe in these mythological characters. Most adults don't. I can tell you of a wonderful place, however, where you can play games and the people who run the games will always make sure you win. If you like gambling and winning money, here is some good news.
Years ago I decided to become a gambler, well perhaps decided is too strong a word. I grew up around the race track and everyone around me was a gambler so it was just as natural as learning how to ride a bike or drive a car. I soon found, however, that the race track is a tough place to make a living with such a high vig.
I looked into casinos and card playing and became a black jack card counter. I read some good books on the subject, spent hours practicing and set out to beat the casinos at their own game. I soon found out that it was one of the most boring jobs a young man could have. When it is your livelihood and you have to sit at the table for hours, grinding out a profit, it is tedious.
That wasn't the worst part, though. The worst of it was the people who came into the casino and were instantly transformed into gullible children. Has this ever happened to you? I would be sitting at a blackjack table working hard to keep the count, avoid the suspicion of the pit boss and someone would sit down beside me clutching a little card that the casino had given to them.
You've probably seen the cards I am talking about. They have the basic card counting strategy on them. Basic strategy is losing strategy. That is why card counters, shuffle trackers, and other pros don't use basic strategy. They use an advanced strategy that suits the particular situation. I really don't mind those people using basic strategy or any other kind of strategy. What did irk me however, was the fact that they would often become exasperated with me and start telling me how to play my cards.
They seemed to think that blackjack is a team effort and we were all playing together to beat the house. Sometimes they were particularly loud and would draw attention to me, becoming insulting or abusive. Naturally, since I don't want to get shut down by the casino, I couldn't tell them that I was a pro and using an advanced strategy. Sometimes they would get so loud it would draw the attention of the pit boss who might wonder why I wasn't using basic strategy.
I would try to ask them in a nice way to mind their own business but sometimes it became too much to bear and I would sarcastically ask them where they got the card. They would tell me that the casino was passing them out and they were free.
"Isn't that nice," I would say. "The casino wants to make sure you win so they give you a little card that tells you the secret of winning and taking their money. My goodness, it's a wonder they can stay in business since they're giving money away!"
Unfortunately, most of the time, my sarcasm was wasted. Now here's the point. If you really want to beat a casino or make money betting on horses, you're going to have to do it on your own. Those establishments may give lessons on the basics of the game because they want you to play them, but no one in the gambling industry wants you to take their money, they'll just let you borrow it for a while.
